Noh, with its history spanning over 600 years, is represented by the Kanze family, who have preserved invaluable materials related to Noh, including Noh masks, costumes, and manuscripts handwritten by Zeami himself. These possessions are important cultural assets of Japan and must be passed down to society for generations to come.

At the same time, we need to focus on activities such as promoting Noh theater and training successors.

The previous 25th head of the Kanze family, Kanze Sakon, worked to promote and develop Noh through the public release of historical materials. Inheriting this spirit, the Kanze Bunko Foundation was established in 1991 under the 26th head of the Kanze family, Kanze Kiyokazu, with the aim of preserving and utilizing Noh masks, costumes, and valuable books and documents passed down through the Kanze family, and promoting Noh both domestically and internationally.

Since then, we have held the "Kanze Bunko Establishment Commemorative Exhibition 'The Flower of Yugen'" in 1993, and have engaged in numerous activities as regular projects such as "Nohgaku Kanze-za" and "Kanze-za MIRAI".
Furthermore, we are working to popularize Noh by holding introductory courses for beginners that explain the appeal of Noh with demonstrations, as well as Noh chanting and dance classes for children in various locations. Our activities are diverse.

Going forward, the restoration and preservation of valuable historical materials will be a crucial challenge, and the support of our members will be essential to safely pass them on to future generations.

We would be grateful if you would take this opportunity to support and cooperate with the activities of the Kanze Library.
